Frequently Asked Questions
Challah is typically a braided bread enriched with eggs, sugar and salt. It's origins stretch back thousands of years in Jewish tradition - enjoyed at many festive occasions and holidays. In recent times, Challah is often adapted to different palettes and tastes, and it can be enjoyed as a regular feature of breakfast tables, social gatherings and many more settings!
Here at Braided Loaf Baking, we set out to fill a gap in the greater North Shore and Merrimack Valley food scene. In eastern Massachusetts, Challah Bread is scarcely available outside of the Boston area. Our CBO (Chief Bread Officer) and founder, Dave, wanted to change that.
Starting in the fall of 2024, we aim to bake a traditional version of Challah along with some additional varieties that anyone could enjoy, and we hope to bake it for you very soon!
Challah and Bakbka are regularly sold on this website and available for local (Amesbury, Newburyport and Merrimac) delivery. Follow us on social media (on Facebook and Instagram @braidedloafbaking) to keep track of our delivery availability.
Additionally, we pop up regularly at events in the North Shore/Merrimack Valley area. Take a look at the "Where To Find Us" section of our website to see where we will be next!
